Extracting text from an image lets you turn a photo, screenshot, or scanned document into editable text without retyping it: copy a paragraph from a book, a code off a screen, or the figures on a receipt in seconds. Most online OCR services upload your image to a server; fetchio.io works the other way around: text recognition runs with tesseract.js (WebAssembly) inside your browser, so the image never leaves your device. The first time, the OCR engine and language model are downloaded; after that everything is local, with no watermarks and no daily limits. It works best on clear, high-contrast text: handwriting and low-quality scans are harder to recognize.
Drag a photo or screenshot with text (JPG, PNG…) or click to choose it. Nothing is uploaded.
Choose Spanish, English or both so the OCR recognizes words and accents more accurately.
Review and edit the recognized text, copy it to the clipboard or save it as a .txt file.

Very good with clear, high-contrast text (screenshots, straight scans, sharp photos). Handwriting, blurry scans or low-light photos produce more errors, so it’s worth reviewing the result.
Spanish and English, together or separately. If your image mixes both languages, pick both to improve recognition of accents and words.
Common formats like JPG, PNG, WebP and similar. It also works with screenshots and photos taken with your phone.
fetchio.io never uploads your image, adds no watermarks, and doesn’t cap how many images you process per day. Everything is free, no sign-up, and processed in your browser.
